Dr. Nicole Nedella

Dr. Nicole NedellaDr. Nicole Nedella joined Pinnacle Family Medicine in September 2010. She was born and raised in Chandler, Arizona. She went to college at Grand Canyon University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in General Biology. She was Adjunct Faculty at Grand Canyon University, teaching human dissection and anatomy for a year. She then went to medical school at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class.

Dr. Nicole went on to do her Family Medicine residency training at Phoenix Baptist Hospital. During this time, she discovered further that she loves the teaching aspect of medicine, not only helping patients understand more about their health and various disease processes, but also teaching medical students and residents. She is also Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern University, where she assists in teaching clinical skills to the medical students.

Dr. Nicole enjoys practicing full-spectrum care of the family, beginning from the newborn stage all the way through adulthood. She believes that the patient-doctor relationship is very important, and that fostering an environment of mutual trust and respect is of huge value in patient care. She and her husband, Dr. Brent Nedella, have worked together since they met in college, and believe they provide something unique to family medicine in that their family can provide a wide range of services to their patient’s families. She loves to focus time on women’s health, adolescent medicine, and also enjoys counseling patients on obesity, weight loss strategies, and healthy living in order to try to prevent disease processes before they start or progress. She also enjoys doing multiple office procedures such as skin biopsies, endometrial biopsies, IUD insertions, and joint injections.

In her free time, Dr. Nicole's favorite thing to do is spending time with Dr. Brent and their little boy. She also enjoys hiking, running, and swimming. She and Dr. Brent love serving at their church, CCV Avondale, and participating in high school and neighborhood ministries. Dr. Nicole also feels God has called her to participate in short term medical missions. Her most recent trip was back to Uganda in September 2014 with Dr. Brent, Dr. Engstrom, and Stacey (Pinnacle's office manager). She looks forward to serving God on future trips.
